Constans, with Constantius II, 340-350. Seal (Lead, 17 mm, 2.25 g, 9 h). Confronted busts of Constans and Constantius II, both draped and cuirassed and wearing a pearled diadem. Leukel (2002): Römische Plomben aus Trierer Funden 1995-2001, p. 28, no. 26. Münzzentrum 151 (2009), 872. A rare imperial seal type with well-preserved portraits. Very fine.

From an important collection of Roman and Byzantine seals, tesserae and amulets, formed before 2021.


This seal must have been struck during the years 340-350, after the death of Constantine II, and before the death of Constans.
